I am already a registered veteran patient: do I need to re-register for the AQ Together program?

No, you will automatically have access to the AQ Together program and the Veterans shop, including the exclusive formats and products. Just log in as usual.

The name on the product I received doesn’t match the product name on the website. Did I get the wrong product?

We have recently changed our product names to reflect cultivar names. The product you receive is the same great cannabis you have come to rely on, but the label may have the old name as we transition our packaging.

Can you help with direct billing for Veterans?

Aqualitas is pleased to work with Veterans for Healing to support veterans that require medical cannabis by direct billing to Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) on your behalf. 

We will continue to direct bill all orders to Medavie Blue Cross and absorb the cost difference on all orders for as long as you are a registered patient and approved by Blue Cross.

Veterans Affairs Canada provides coverage for up to 3 grams per day (90 grams per month), or the equivalent amount, at $8.50 per gram. In some cases, higher daily amounts are approved on a case-by-case basis.

Do you cover the costs of orders while waiting for a response from Veterans Affairs Canada?

Yes, we offer Bridge coverage on a case-by-case basis for the first 30 days while we wait for a response from VAC regarding your coverage. Under this Bridge Coverage, we may cover up to $8.50 per gram, up to a maximum of 3 grams per day (90 grams per month), for a 30-day period, if applicable. 

In general, to qualify for Bridge Coverage, you must not have placed an order with another licensed producer within the last 30 calendar days.

I’m currently registered at another licensed producer. How can I switch to Aqualitas and get VAC coverage?

You can begin purchasing medical cannabis from us in two ways:

  1. Please contact your current licensed producer and request a transfer. Ask them to fax your medical document and registration document to us by fax (1-855-750-1884) after placing your last order with your current licensed producer.
  2. To add Aqualitas to your current licensed producer(s), you can split your authorization between LPs.  Contact your healthcare provider and request that they send us a separate medical document.  You can request that they add us to your file and send a medical document by fax to 1-855-750-1884. 
Are vaporizers available to purchase and covered through Veterans Affairs Canada?

Yes, funding for vaporizers for inhaled medical cannabis is available through VAC. Veterans can claim $300 for a vaporizer device every three years under VAC (unless otherwise specified by Veteran Affairs Canada). If you are interested in a vaporizer, we can help by reaching out to VAC to request authorization of a vaporizer product for you. How are the prescription period allowances start dates calculated, and when do the periods reset?

Your start date for your prescription period is based on the anticipated delivery date of your first order. Every subsequent period is calculated 30 days from the first start date. Please note that since not all months have exactly 30 days, the prescription period allowance reset date may not be the same calendar day every month.

Any additional cannabis purchased outside of the allocation period will not be covered.  For an order to be covered within a period, both the order date and the estimated delivery date of your order must fall within the same prescription period for it to be covered within that period.

I noticed that I am eligible to order 150 grams - will VAC cover this?

Aqualitas has removed the 30-day limit on ordering that was previously in effect under the ACMPR. There is no longer a limit on the amount of cannabis you can purchase in a 30-day period. Registered patients can now purchase up to 150 grams (or the equivalent) of medical cannabis per order. There is no limit to how many 150-gram orders you can place.

 

If you are eligible for reimbursement coverage, there may still be monthly or yearly limits. Anything purchased outside of your reimbursement limits will require payment out of pocket.

Are there any restrictions on which products I can buy?

Once you have been approved for coverage by VAC, you can order any Aqualitas or VFH medical cannabis product that VAC covers without paying out of pocket. This includes all brands that appear in the shop.

Any actively serving military member or 1st responder with a service-related injury who has been authorized to use medical cannabis will receive 25% off all Aqualitas medical cannabis products.
